RESERVATIONS

Cowboy Campground @ Legacy Park is currently open to campers or campers and their Equines on a first come, first serve basis unless a special event is taking place or a campsite is reserved when we have a Camp Host.
In the case of special events, the number of available public spaces will be noted.
Please always check in at the Pay Station 1st, we will post reservation information there and also will place “reserve cards” when possible.
Whenever possible, please check the calendar below or our FB for special events scheduled at the campground prior to coming. We are getting busier

PRICING:
$25 RV or Tent camping without horses per night - Try to use lower tiers
$25 Horse Camping (2) and one vehicle w/horse trailer and one additional vehicle
$5 Additional vehicle or tent
$5 Additional horse at same campsite (Highline or Travel Corral)
$10 Day Use Fee - (No more  riding through the campground to access trails)
$25 Using corrals at another camp site regardless if no one else is at that camp site

  • Pack In! Pack Out!  Leave the Campground better then you found it. 
  • Camp spots are 1st serve 1st occupy on weekends unless they are reserved through the Cowboy Campground office and will show a sign, when large events take place, site reservations will be through the event manager.
  • Camping & Trail Use is at your own risk. 
  • Map for trail access etc. available at Visitor Center and Forest Service in Idaho City
  • NO MOTORCYCLE/ATV/UTV camping on upper level, unless Approved!
  • The lower Tiers, below the Courtyard are available for motorized campers, you may leave from our Campground and cross Highway 21 to access the trails on the East side of Highway 21. Slow Down when coming into the Campground, be polite, horses/people have the Right-a-way. 
  • EQUINE CAMPING RULES
  • Campers are responsible to clean up corrals, or pay a $10/per day cleaning fee to Camp Host, check in 1st, don't assume. 
  • Bring: Manure Forks & your own horse water containers for the safety of your horse and others.
  • Wheel barrows onsite for cleanup. Bring your own tools. 
  • Manure needs to be disposed of at the dump area, near the pay station. Do not throw manure down hillsides, it brings flies etc.
  • Never, ever, clean our your horse trailer, that will stop you from enjoying our campground.
  • If Camp Host is present and willing to clean your paddocks, a $10 fee per stall, per horse is payable to host for the service. 
  • Large Equine events might not allow for a non-participating horse campers, since the entire camp is reserved, please check the calendar.
